Privacy Policy

Last updated June 8, 2026

Lumoriam Ltd. ("Lumoriam," "we," "us," or "our") provides a mobile and web application that helps families create and share tributes to honour their loved ones. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By creating an account or using Lumoriam, you agree to the practices described here.

Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and an encrypted password. You may also provide a display name.

Content you create. Tributes you build may include photos, videos, the name and dates of a loved one, written memories, messages, and similar content that you or people you invite choose to upload.

Payment information. Purchases of Pro, render credits, and printed memory books are processed by the Apple App Store, Google Play, or Stripe. We do not collect or store your full payment card details. We may receive limited transaction information, such as a confirmation that a purchase was completed.

Information collected automatically. When you use the app, we and our service providers may collect device information, app version, log data, and basic usage information to keep the service running and to diagnose problems.

Messages you send us. If you contact support, we collect your name, email, and the contents of your message so we can respond.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

Provide, maintain, and improve the Lumoriam app and its features.

Create, store, and display the tributes and content you choose to make.

Process purchases, render credits, donations, and memory book orders.

Respond to your support requests and send you important service messages.

Protect the security of our users and prevent fraud or abuse.

Comply with our legal obligations.

How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as described below:

Service providers. We rely on trusted third parties to operate Lumoriam, including Google Firebase (authentication, database, and file storage), Stripe (donation and payment processing), Gelato (printing and shipping of memory books), Resend (transactional and support email), and the Apple App Store and Google Play (app purchases). These providers process information on our behalf and are bound by their own privacy and security obligations.

Content you choose to share. Tributes are private by default. If you share a tribute join code or make a tribute page public, the content in that tribute becomes viewable by anyone who has the link. You control what is shared.

Legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of Lumoriam, our users, or the public.

Business transfers. If Lumoriam is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

Public Tributes and Shared Content

Lumoriam is built on the belief that a tribute belongs to the family. We will never publicly list, feature, or advertise your tribute. A tribute is only visible to people you invite with a private join code, or to anyone you personally share a public link with. You decide who can see and contribute to each tribute.

Donations

When a tribute includes a donation fund, contributions are processed by Stripe and paid out to the family member who set up the fund. Lumoriam does not hold these funds and does not take a fee from them. Donations are not charitable contributions and are not tax-deductible. We receive limited information about donations, such as donor name, amount, and an optional message, in order to display and record them.

Data Storage and Security

Your content and account data are stored using Google Firebase, which runs on Google Cloud infrastructure trusted by thousands of applications worldwide. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data Retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You may delete your tributes or your account at any time. When you delete content or your account, we remove the associated data from our active systems, although some information may remain in backups for a limited period or where retention is required by law.

Your Rights and Choices

You can access, update, or delete your tributes and account information from within the app. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights regarding your personal information, such as the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict its use. To make a request, contact us at support@lumoriam.com and we will respond as required by applicable law.

Children's Privacy

Lumoriam is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

International Users

Lumoriam is operated from Canada and uses service providers that may store and process data in Canada, the United States, and other countries. By using the app, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in countries with different data protection laws than your own.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the date at the top of this page. If we make material changes, we will provide additional notice within the app or by email. Your continued use of Lumoriam after an update means you accept the revised policy.
